Dr. Harold Calvin Ray

Dr. Harold Calvin Ray is Founder and Senior Pastor of Redemptive Life Palm Beach, a vibrant church fellowship located in West Palm Beach, Florida, with ministry outreach substantively impacting quality of life throughout the United States and around the globe.

As Founder and CEO of The National Center for Faith-Based Initiatives, his leadership is focused upon creating coalitions of faith and community-based, intermediary organizations dedicated to increasing access to high quality, economic programming, and “place-based” services in underserved communities. These efforts include the substantive engagement of systemic inequities and injustices which have historically created critical quality of life disparities which have negatively impacted Black, Hispanic, and Indigenous communities. Essential policy reformation of these pandemic inequities is now strategically being targeted through the National Center’s collaboration with the Lancet International

Commission on COVID 19, as well as faith-based organizations, and a unique coalition of Historical Black Colleges and Universities throughout the United States.

Dr. Ray’s leadership and influence resulting in public/private partnerships was widely acclaimed by national leaders throughout the United States as he led the National Center’s efforts, as a designated, national intermediary by the Health and Human Services department of the George W. Bush administration. In this role, the National Center provided capacity training to more than 12,000 faith and community-based leaders and administrators as well as providing millions in pass-through funding to support their local work

Dr. Ray holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oral Roberts University, where he served as Student Body President and later served as a member of the University Board of Regents, and Adjunct Professor of Law. He is an honors graduates of the University of Notre Dame Law School from which he received his Juris doctorate degree in 1981, where he served as an annual guest lecturer and as a member of the Law School’s Alumni Board of Directors. Dr. Ray holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from South University School of Theology.

He is a licensed member in good standing of the Texas State Bar since 1981, and a member of the National Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is also a member of numerous local, regional, and national boards.

The author of fourteen books and numerous published articles, Dr. Ray was ordained to The Office of Bishop in September 1996. He served as the Senior Prelate of The Kingdom Dominion International Church Fellowship until 2016. In 2016, Bishop Ray joined the Global United Fellowship, a coalition of over 1500 hundred churches led by Presiding Bishop Neil C. Ellis. Dr. Ray currently serves as Senior Vice Presiding Bishop of the Fellowship.

Bishop Ray has been married for thirty-five years to his life partner and Co-Pastor, Brenda Ray. They are the parents of two children and grandparents of five grandsons and two granddaughters.
