How would you describe Bishop Paul Alexander Bowers?

“A great man. Careful, has good business sense, diplomatic, humble, and dedicated.” – Pastor LaVelton Daniel

Bishop Paul Alexander Bowers is all of these descriptors plus more.  Bishop Bowers, who is now Pastor Emeritus at Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple, is truly leaving a definitive landmark in the hearts of thousands of individuals around the world and setting the standard for effective and authentic ministry.

Who is the honorable Bishop P.A. Bowers?

Bishop Paul A. Bowers | Apostolic Father

Family Man
Bishop Bowers was married to the late Dr. Elma J. Bowers, and they had been united in Holy Matrimony for 45 years. They were blessed to have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is now married to Lady Rebecca Ann Bowers. In November 2003, they were united in Holy Matrimony.

“A commander in the army for the Lord”
Bishop has led the Apostolic movement, preaching the unadulterated gospel for over 55 years. Faithful he has been to one organization (Pentecostal Assemblies of the World) and one congregation (Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple), serving as a shepherd, inspiration, advisor, Prayer Warrior – a true foundation.

Preaching Machine
There is NO doubt that Bishop Bowers’ ministry has been fruitful, impacting individuals within the United States as well as across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Bishop has proven that when you stand for God and God alone, He will sustain and keep you.

“Multi-faceted visionary”

Bishop has mastered success on and off the pulpit. His progressive and forward-thinking enabled him to build two monumental buildings in Zanesville, Ohio – 100-bed nursing home and 1200-seated worship center.

During his tenure as the Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc, he remodeled the International Headquarters facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, along with the Aenon Bible College, a project that costs over $2,220,000.00.

Bishop has also demonstrated growth through his leadership – while serving as the Diocesan Bishop of the Carolina Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc, he doubled the number of churches in 20 years. While Pastor at Greater Emanuel, he purchased and remodeled two churches over his 50 years of shepherding. The present location seats approximately 1,500 people and houses several classrooms, administrative offices, and a fully-equipped food service department.

You can always catch Bishop telling a joke – it never fails!

His life’s story is well noted in the “The Preaching Machine”, an exciting well-written biography by award-winning author, Holly Broach Sowels.

A Great Man of God has been called home. Truly Bishop Bowers was one of a kind. Gentle, Stately, Godly, Understanding, Patient, No nonsense, a ONENESS preacher, and an Awesome example to God’s people. I was introduced to Paul Bowers ministry when he was the Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World…Just coming into the understanding of the ONENESS doctrine after receiving the Holy Ghost and Baptism in Jesus Name…I was about 3 years old in Christ (1990). I heard a message Bishop Bowers had preached entitled “Victory in Defeat” What a word? I still remember that message…almost 30 years later…My Lord and My God. Finally, anybody who was a Mentor to my Bishop, Howard A. Swancy, Jr. had to being somebody in Jesus Christ. Bishop Paul A. Bowers….you will always be Remembered.
