Bishop Norman L. Wagner is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and pastor of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church at Youngstown. During his early ministry he served as Youth Leader in his home church (Mt. Calvary) and Assistant Pastor. In 1969, he began traveling extensively as a national evangelist. His highly anointed and dynamic preaching and singing quickly made him one of the most sought after revivalist and speakers.

In 1971, he was called to pastor Mt. Calvary. Under his pastorate the church established Calvary Christian Academy, a nation-wide weekly television program Tel-A-World Ministries, Saints Saving and Trust Credit Union, and Calvary Towers Senior Citizen Complex. Dr. Wagner is known for his exemplary organization and leadership abilities.

He has established an Annual Leadership Conference which has been responsible for sharing his leadership insight with many ministers, pastors and wives, evangelists and teachers from all parts of the International Body.

Dr. Wagner also served as President of the IPYPU from 1973 to 1976. His accomplishments were numerous. He attended Youngstown State University and has received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Aenon Bible College and Bethel Theological Seminary. He has been listed in the “Who’s Who” in Religion. He has written several books, pamphlets and articles, and is a frequent guest lecturer at Youngstown State University. He was elected to the office of Assistant General Secretary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World during the 71st Annual Convention of the P.A.W. He remained in that position until he was elevated to the office of Bishop.

Dr. Wagner is currently the Diocesan Bishop of the 31st Episcopal Council, the European Council of Nations. In 1998 he was elevated to the office of Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, of which he served two consecutive terms. Dr. Wagner and his lovely wife, Rita, are the parents of two daughters. He went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2010.

    My favorite Christian preacher. May he continue to Rest in Peace! I never could find my video copy of his message” The Door in the Valley of Achor 1985 at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington ,D.C. . Also 1987 here in Phildelphia ,Pa. “The Ressurection if the Sons of God” ! He was my idol preacher in the church growing up. The Earth has missed such a Great Preacher and Man!

    I was saved in 1982 during a youth conference whereas he was the keynote speaker at Lively Stone Church in St. Louis {Bishop P L Scott Sr.}. I was dumbfounded with Bishop’s anointing, and great articulation; knowledge, and understanding of God’s word; he was very touchable as well.

I salute your memory and your authentic ministry as a trailblazer Of Apostolic fatherhood and sonship! You provided me with the inspiration and spiritual perspectives to pursue God with all my heart to become the dream of God in the earth! You were my mentor, friend and true shepherd of my soul, so you are always in my thoughts, conversations and remembrance! I shall always recall the truth that love transcends time and space and with that knowledge you shall always be loved, cherished and honored by the life we live! Thank you for choosing to love me as your son and to father me in the transformation and transitions in life!

    I remember the Honorable Bishop Norman Wegener
    Bishop. Wegener was the Presiding Bishop when i came into this Great organization Pentecostal Assemblies of the world

    My heart broke 9 years ago when my pastor died! I will never forget him, his wife and his children! He spoke some much into my life. I am doing what he said… I obeyed my “sacred call to secular places.”

    Bishop Norman L Wagner supported myself and then husband Pastor Cleveland Fyffe who also has gone home to be with the Lord 2012. To launch the Ministry of Ark 4 Dominion Apostolic Ministries Birmingham England.
    Bishop inspired me to go beyond the realms of my limitation and see my self as how God sees me.
    He taught me faith in it demonstration in the 21 century. Forgiveness and how to work with everyone because you will always need every part of the body to fuction. Pastor Karen Fyffe Presidents of the European Council of Nation West.

    I knew we were going to have a word from that Bishop Wagner was in the house of the Lord! And what Great Expectations did the body have when we were told he was going to bring forth the Uncompromising Word of God! My heart burned. His Legancy will live on cause our Father lives! Never will Forget the ODCYPU GREAT TIMES!!!

    I remember how my heart brok when I heard the news. A true general of the Apistolic faith went home to rest in Jesus! Grateful to have heard him. Ministered numerous times. Our hope is in Jesus so all is well!

    Bishop Wagner was and still is a man before his time. He was the first person I ever heard talk about the Kingdom of God. He was truly a gift on the earth. He left a tremendous legacy. We definitely miss him. Thank you Lord for the time Bishop Wagner had on the earth.

I was also glad to be a Honour Guard at His Home Going Celebration
