Dr. Booth earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Howard University and his Master of Divinity degree from Eastern Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio where he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Charles E. Booth is an author, publishing his book,Bridging the Breach: Evangelical Thought and Liberation in the African-American Preaching Tradition (Urban Ministries) in 2000.  The Prophetic Voice: Words for Today was released in 2011.  His most recent publication, released in 2014 -Stronger in my Broken Places; Claiming a Life of Fullness in God.

Dr. Booth is a former member of the advisory board of The African American Pulpit and has contributed writings in multiple publications, such as From One Brother to Another: Voices of African American Men; The Irresistible Urge to Preach: A Collectible of African American “Call” Stories; Outstanding Black Sermons, volumes III and IV; and Wisdom of the Ages: The Mystique of the African American Preacher.  Dr. Booth’s biography and a sermon appear in Preaching with Sacred Fire: An Anthology of African-American Sermons, 1750-Present.

The Baltimore native has devoted the past 40 years to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where he has overseen substantial church growth.

In 1993, Dr. Booth founded the Mount Olivet Christian Academy, later renamed the Gloria S. Friend Christian Academy in honor of its first administrator.  The Academy, which has grades kindergarten through sixth, stresses excellence in academics, Christian education, and African and African American history.  It is fully accredited by the Ohio Department of Education.  During Dr. Booth’s tenure, Mt. Olivet raised $2.1 million to build the 100-seat Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Chapel, an administrative wing and 12 classrooms, and to expand the fellowship center, along with other facility improvements.  Mt. Olivet is now in the planning stages of building an $8 million Family Life Center.  Dr. Booth leads his congregation by focusing on providing spiritual nurturing and information.  “The pulpit is no place for personal opinion,” he said to attendees of the African American Leadership Workshop in 2007. “The pulpit is the place for propagation of the Gospel.”

Dr. Booth has been a guest preacher to enlisted service men and women and their families in Germany; the North American preacher at the Baptist World Youth Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and a guest revivalist and preacher at churches and conferences throughout the United States, Europe, South America, Central America and Africa.  He has been the guest preacher and lecturer at the historic Hampton Ministers’ Conference in 1984, 1995 and 1999.

Dr. Booth has been listed in Who’s Who Among African Americans and in Ebony magazine’s Honor Roll of Preachers.  He received the 1999 James E. Stamps Alumni Recognition Award for outstanding contributions to young people attending historically black colleges and universities; the 1999 Alpha Phi Alpha and the Alpha Lambda Rho Chapter’s Vertner Woodson Tandy Award for dedicated community service.  The Columbus Ohio Education Association awarded the 2014 Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award to Dr. Booth for his documented commitment to local and global communities around the issues of unemployment, homelessness, education, and health.

Dr. Booth will Lie in State 5:00pm-8:00pm and family will be present from 6:00pm -8:00pm, Wednesday March 27, 2019 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church 428 E. Main St. An additional visitation will take place from 10:00am-11:00am Thursday March 28, 2019 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church; The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00am. Entombment at Union Cemetery. A complete obituary will also be published in Tuesday’s Dispatch. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Family Life Center. He is considered a lyricist of the highest order and with artists, such as The Chicago Mass Choir, Dorinda Clark-Cole, New Direction, Reed’s Temple Choir, and Mark Hubbard & The United Voices in his clientry, this has been proven time and time again throughout his Musical History. is catalogue includes: “Nobody Like Jesus” (Dorinda Clark-Cole), “Nobody Like Jesus” & “I Pray We’ll All Be Ready” (Chicago Mass Choir) and “Young & Strong” (Youth In Unity).

In addition to writing songs, Cribbs is a precise and versatile vocalist. His silky-smooth vocal styling has served as an example for such prolific artists as Jonathan McReynolds, Anita Wilson, and Kevin Gray. Over the years, he’s delivered stirring performances and continues to be a template for young singers everywhere. Also a clergyman, Cribbs insists that effective music is the segue for the Word of God to flow with power and authority.

A writer, a radio personality, an orator, a journalist, a singer, a mentor, and a car enthusiast, he continues to move in excellence as a cosmopolitan man. He is able to connect with a variety of people – both on and off stage. Simplifying the intricacies of everyday life into terms that are relative to generations past and present is a unique ability that he possesses. He has garnered the respect of seasoned and aspiring artists with a plethora of well-penned songs in his Musical Catalog.

Marlowe Cribbs enjoyed sharing his talents as much as those who enjoy their experience with him. His words were precise, his heart was open and his voice was distinct. He was a gift to the world that has yet to be revealed in its entirety.

BISHOP DAVID CRAIG WALLACE

His Grace, the Most Reverend David C. Wallace Presiding Prelate, Agape Christian Fellowship Senior Pastor, Agape Cathedral
Bishop David Craig Wallace, the eldest of four children given to Elder Harvey and Mother Ella Wallace was reared in a home of love, salvific teaching and discipline. It was at the tender age of nine that young David committed his life to the Lord and shortly afterwards was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. As a result, there has been a rich deposit of ministry encompassing music, the Word and the prophetic in his life.

After serving the Lord and the church through various ministries, Bishop Wallace answered the call of God to minister the Word by delivering his initial sermon in August 1983 while serving as Minister of Music at the Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ, Corona, New York. The academic corridors were Penn State University, City University of New York, and New York School of the Bible. While at Penn State, Bishop Wallace served as Director of the University’s Gospel Choir. Many souls were saved, healed and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

He was ordained to the gospel ministry at the hands of his father and a board of presbyters at Full Gospel Tabernacle, Long Beach, New York in 1984. It was under the dynamic leadership of the late Bishop Frederick Douglas Washington, Pastor of Washington Temple, Church of God in Christ in Brooklyn, New York that Bishop Wallace completed his apprenticeship to the gospel ministry with a prophetic emphasis on shepherding the Lord’s flock.

He is President of the Annual Fresh Anointing Conference and Holy Convocation, Senior Pastor of the Agape Cathedral, serving both in Brooklyn and Baldwin, New York since September 1988 to the present. He is recognized by civic, social and political leaders as a visionary with a holistic approach to the needs of the urban community and is the recipient of various citations and awards.

As a prince in the Lord’s Church, he embraces vision with an apostolic anointing. He recognizes his role as a father in ministry and works arduously in fulfilling Ephesians 4:12, “the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ.” As a man who understands purpose, he settles for nothing less than excellence in ministry and business. One of the supreme mandates given to him by God is that of developing men and women for leadership and the establishment of the Lord’s work. Bishop Wallace is the devoted husband to Reverend Cordelia Wallace, an ordained elder and international evangelist who has shared life and ministry with him for over 30 years and the proud father of two adult children, Octavia Chanel and David Frederick, Eric R. Figueroa 2nd son in love and the doting grandfather of one, Eric III.
